Roadway Lighting

The Roadway Lighting Technician Level I certification program covers the fundamental knowledge and skill sets required for individuals working on Roadway Lighting. The subject areas include Electrical Safety and Codes, Basic Electricity, Laws, Jurisdictional Requirements, Basic Construction and Maintenance, Safety and Qualifications, Energy Efficiency, Lamp and Luminaire Components, Electrical Service, Poles and High Mast Components, Basic Lighting Design Fundamentals, Lighting Applications, Maintenance, Testing, Investigation and Troubleshooting and Reference Documents.  This two day program provides the student with a review of the knowledge necessary to prepare for the certification examination.

The Roadway Lighting Technician Level II certification program contains information to build upon the fundamentals of the Level I program covering an advanced level of knowledge for Roadway Lighting Design, Installation, Management and Maintenance, Electrical requirements, Structural and Construction Requirements, Roadway Lighting Inspection, Inspection of Underground Facilities, Inspection of Poles, Overhead Equipment, Control Systems, Lighting Design Calculations and Reference Documents.  This two day program provides the student with a review of the knowledge necessary to prepare for the certification examination.
